LIGHT
The four Advent candles are a beautiful Christmas tradition. Each one has a special meaning reminding us to prepare our hearts in the weeks leading up to Christ's birth. When we focus on God and keep our minds on Him this holiday season, we will be able to rest in the perfect peace of the world.
Let's use the five candles of Advent to guide and prepare your hearts for the season in celebration of Jesus’ birth. Return each week for a brief devotional time with a word, song, scripture writing and prayer being mindful of what is happening in the world today.
The Christ Candle - Light
There’s one candle left on the Advent wreath, and that is the center candle, also called the Christ candle.
The Christ candle is saved for last and is lit on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. It is in the center because the Christ candle reminds us that Jesus is the center of Christmas. The four outer candles are all important, but they only make sense with Jesus at the center. .

There is no real hope without Christ
There is no real love without Christ
There is no real joy without Christ
There is no real peace without Christ

We have seen the lack of hope, love, joy, and peace in the world.

Wanting them without Jesus is like wanting the light, warmth, scent and crackling of a fire in the fireplace but without the fire. It doesn’t work that way.
Just as the fire is central to all the good things about the fire, so Christ is central to Christmas. Hope, peace, joy and love come from him.

Christ is central. He is the reason for Christmas. He is the one who brings true hope, peace, joy and love for us all. Let us draw near to him to worship, to praise, to follow and believe. O come let us adore Him!
Scripture Writing and Prayer
Christmas Blessings! Today's image is simply an adult coloring page with room to write the words of John 1:5 or your favorite Christmas passage(s) and to pray what is on your heart.
[Bridge]
And the greatness of His Reign
Will never end
Let there be peace on Earth
And all goodwill to Men
Come let us worship Him
